Ever wondered if All On 4 dental implants are the right fit for you? The answer lies in understanding the unique candidacy criteria. Let’s explore the key factors that determine whether you’re an ideal candidate for this revolutionary dental solution, unlocking the potential to transform your smile and overall oral health.

Dietary Guidelines for All on 4 Patients - Brooklands Dental ClinicImportance of Candidacy Assessment for Successful Outcomes

The significance of a thorough candidacy assessment cannot be overstated when considering the success of All On 4 dental implants. This assessment plays a pivotal role in determining whether a patient is well-suited for the procedure, considering factors such as oral health, bone density, and overall well-being.

By carefully evaluating these aspects, our implant team can tailor the treatment plan to your needs, ensuring optimal outcomes, improved functionality, and a transformed, confident smile. The precision in candidacy assessment contributes to the long-term success and satisfaction of patients undergoing the All On 4 implant procedure.

The Candidacy Criteria for All On 4

The candidacy criteria for All On 4 dental implants involve several key factors that are carefully evaluated to determine the suitability of an individual for the procedure:

  1. Oral Health Prerequisites: Good overall oral health is essential, including healthy gums and absence of active periodontal disease. Presence of any existing dental issues, such as decay or infection, may need to be addressed before proceeding with All On 4.
  2. Evaluation of Bone Density: Sufficient bone density in the jaw is crucial for the stability and success of implants. Advanced imaging techniques are used to assess the available bone and determine the optimal placement of implants.
  3. Gum Health: Healthy gum tissue is necessary to support the implant structure. Periodontal health is assessed to ensure the gums can adequately support the All On 4 implant system.
  4. Considerations for Previous Dental Work: Individuals with prior dental work, such as crowns or bridges, may still be eligible for All On 4, but a thorough assessment is needed to address any existing restorations.
  5. Overall Health Impact: The patient’s general health is considered, as certain medical conditions may influence candidacy. A collaborative approach with medical professionals may be necessary to ensure a comprehensive evaluation.
  6. Lifestyle Considerations: Patient lifestyle, habits, and expectations are taken into account to align the treatment plan with individual preferences. The ability to commit to post-operative care and follow-up appointments is an important aspect of candidacy.

Assessment Process at Brooklands Dental Clinic

The assessment process for All On 4 dental implants at Brooklands Dental Clinic is a comprehensive and collaborative approach designed to evaluate the suitability of an individual for the procedure. The key steps in the assessment process include:

  1. Initial Consultation: A thorough initial consultation is conducted to discuss the patient’s oral health, concerns, and treatment goals. The dental team gathers information about the patient’s dental history and any existing issues.
  2. Comprehensive Examination: A detailed examination of the oral cavity, including teeth, gums, and existing restorations, is performed. The dentist assesses the overall health of the oral structures and identifies any potential challenges.
  3. Diagnostic Imaging: Advanced imaging techniques, such as 3D cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans, are utilised to obtain detailed images of the jaw and surrounding structures. These images help determine bone density, identify potential challenges, and plan the precise placement of implants.
  4. Digital Impressions: Digital impressions may be taken using intraoral scanning technology to create a digital model of the patient’s mouth. This aids in the design and fabrication of the custom prosthesis for the All On 4 implant system.
  5. Collaborative Decision-Making: The dental team collaborates with the patient to discuss findings, explain the proposed treatment plan, and address any concerns or questions. The patient actively participates in decision-making, contributing to a personalised approach.

Factors Influencing Candidacy

Several factors play a crucial role in influencing the candidacy of individuals for All On 4 dental implants. These factors are carefully considered during the assessment process to ensure the success and suitability of the treatment. Key factors include:

  1. Impact of Overall Health: The general health of the patient is a significant factor, as certain medical conditions may affect the ability to undergo the procedure. A collaborative approach with medical professionals may be necessary to assess overall health and determine suitability.
  2. Specific Dental Conditions: Existing dental conditions, such as decay, infection, or periodontal disease, may influence candidacy. Treatment plans are tailored to address these conditions before proceeding with All On 4 implants.
  3. Lifestyle Considerations: Patient habits, expectations, and lifestyle preferences are taken into account to align the treatment plan with individual needs. Commitment to post-operative care and follow-up appointments is considered.
  4. Oral Health Prerequisites: Good overall oral health is essential, including the absence of active periodontal disease. The condition of existing teeth and gums is evaluated to ensure a stable foundation for the All On 4 implant system.
  5. Evaluation of Bone Density: Sufficient bone density in the jaw is critical for the stability and success of implants. Advanced imaging helps assess the available bone and plan the optimal placement of implants.
  6. Consideration for Previous Dental Work: Individuals with prior dental work, such as crowns or bridges, may still be eligible for All On 4, but careful evaluation is needed to address any existing restorations.

Had my first hygienist appointment with Sarah yesterday. She deserves the rating, my teeth look and feel clean and smooth. Sarah was gentle and thorough, hugely important to those of us with a fear of the invasiveness of dentistry. Next appointment booked!

I haven’t been to the dentist in over 10 years due to a very bad experience. My mother In law recommended Brooklands dental and I’m so pleased I listened to her. My teeth are in an awful state, I had a lot of tears leading up to my appointment and I cried in there too but Kirsty the receptionist was very reassuring, so kind and checked I was ok whilst I waited. Ana was amazing, she could see I was nervous but kept me calm, explained throughout what she was doing, put a dental plan in place with no pressure to commit to it. She didn’t judge the state of my teeth and was just so lovely and reassuring. I feel very confident that she is going to help me get my teeth and gums back on track so thank you so so much for your help and understanding

I don’t usually write reviews, I’m doing it for 2 reasons. Firstly I can not find any words to thank, The hygienist ❤️Julieanne ❤️I have seen her twice this week. 40 minutes for first visit and today was an 1hr. Due to circumstances, and being soooo frightened, and suffering with severe anxiety, I let my teeth get it to a state, which has caused bone loss and gum disease. I have seen many hygienists in my time. Unfortunately due to my fear and anxiety, I was always given a quick 20 minute clean, due to the sensitivity I had, and lack of patience from the hygienist, even with the injecting of the gums, I was into much pain. The only hygienist in 20 years plus, Julianne has been the only one that could do what I needed for years, and gave me a deep clean. She didn’t rush, spent time to numb my gums, she is an extremely gentle person, but got the job done. She would not allow me to have any discomfort. After my first visit on Tuesday, I was excited that there was a cancellation today, can’t believe I said that 😂, even though I was anxious, I trusted her. I have actually done it. The other reason for this review, is for all the other people out there like me. If you have sensitive teeth, the last thing we think we can do is have our teeth cleaned, especially under the gums. Don’t worry, you really can, it all depends how qualified the hygienist is. It’s easy for me to say this now, and yes I will be anxious on my next appointment, but she really didn’t hurt me at all. Book with Julieanne, even though you might of experienced a painful experience before, hate the dentist, suffer with anxiety, and never been able to get a deep clean due to the pain from the water, noice, vibration. I had mine done pain free. I know I’ve got to try to save my teeth, and will be quite happy to go to Julianne So from someone who really knows, don’t need to be scared and see an exceptional lady. Thank you so much Julieanne.Love Julie x

I have a real phobia of dentists but needed a tooth extracted so very reluctantly made an appointment here. All I can say is from the time I stepped inside the reception area until the time all my treatment had finished - the service was excellent. The staff are all so caring and understanding and made me feel at ease. All very friendly too. I have recommended a friend who has already made an appointment. I will be back in 6 months for a check up - which I have never done before. I always wait for a problem before I go to the dentist.
