Dr Emmanouil graduated from Kings College London, ranked number 1 dental school in Europe and continued his studies for 3 years in the United States, receiving his orthodontics specialty training at the University of Michigan, ranked number 1 in the world (Shanghai’s 2020 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects).He is board certified with the American Board of Orthodontics.

Dr Emmanouil places a high value in delivering the highest quality of care to his patients. For that reason, his goal has been to acquire the best dental and orthodontic education possible and to maintain this by keeping up with all recent advances and evidence.

His leadership role as chief resident of the orthodontic department in the University of Michigan allowed him to have a positive impact, not only on his peers, but on incoming orthodontic residents as well.

It is important to him to always be involved with his community, and throughout his education he has been involved with projects extending beyond the realm of the clinical environment.

As a committee member of Kings College London Smile Society, he participated in organising and conducting educational visits to UK primary schools, delivering oral health promotion advice to children. Being a member of the Global Dental Brigades, he participated in the design and set-up of temporary dental clinics in a community in the central region of Ghana, treating patients within the community and educating them about healthy oral hygiene habits. He has been part of the organising committee of the Dental Smiles, Healthy Athletes programme of the Special Olympics in Athens, Greece, which provided oral examinations, prevention and emergency treatment to more than 3,500 young athletes with special needs during the games.

Dr Emmanouil has a keen interest in research and has presented at several international meetings. During his residency in the University of Michigan, his research focused on craniofacial syndromes and he was able to be part of the Craniofacial Anomalies Program at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, one of the largest programmes of its kind in the United States.
