Feeling anxious or scared by the thought of dental treatment is nothing to be embarrassed about, though it is a fear that should be unfounded.

At Brooklands Dental Clinic, we understand how you are feeling and our team will ensure every possible step is taken to make you feel relaxed and at ease.

Dream-Like Relaxation: Experience Stress-Free Dentistry with Sedation Options at Our Clinic

Sedation Dentistry or IV Sedation may be an appropriate alternative for patients who are nervous or apprehensive about dental procedures. With sedation dentistry, you can receive the treatment you need while you sit back and relax in a dream-like state. After the procedure, you will feel refreshed and have no recollection of experiencing any pain. Best of all, you will probably only need one appointment to complete your treatment. So in just a few hours you can start enjoying the confidence that comes with a bright new smile and good dental health.

Had my first hygienist appointment with Sarah yesterday. She deserves the rating, my teeth look and feel clean and smooth. Sarah was gentle and thorough, hugely important to those of us with a fear of the invasiveness of dentistry. Next appointment booked!

I haven’t been to the dentist in over 10 years due to a very bad experience. My mother In law recommended Brooklands dental and I’m so pleased I listened to her. My teeth are in an awful state, I had a lot of tears leading up to my appointment and I cried in there too but Kirsty the receptionist was very reassuring, so kind and checked I was ok whilst I waited. Ana was amazing, she could see I was nervous but kept me calm, explained throughout what she was doing, put a dental plan in place with no pressure to commit to it. She didn’t judge the state of my teeth and was just so lovely and reassuring. I feel very confident that she is going to help me get my teeth and gums back on track so thank you so so much for your help and understanding

I have been going to Brooklands dental clinic for a number of years. Before going here I hadn't been to a dentist in over 20 years as I was petrified of dentists. However circumstances forced me to go. They were brilliant with me, kind, gentle and understanding. All the staff were fantastic. I have now been going for a long time and had lots of different treatments and I am finally over my fear. I highly recommend this practice for its kindness, efficiency and skill.

Safe and Painless IV Sedation: Ensuring Comfort and Care Throughout Your Dental Procedure

During sedation, an anaesthetic is applied to the forearm or the back of your hand, and then a sedative and often an analgesic (painkiller) is administered into the vein. It is not like a normal intramuscular injection, the injection is virtually painless. IV Sedation is a very safe procedure. Sedation performed in dental surgeries by qualified professionals has an excellent safety record. During sedation, our anaesthetist is always with you.

Your vital signs are monitored during your entire procedure and you will never be left alone.

You are required not to eat or drink for at least one hour prior to the procedure. If you are currently on any medications please inform us so that these can be noted.

Navigating the Post-Treatment Period and Exploring Sedation Dentistry at Brooklands Dental Clinic

Following the sedation treatment, you will sleep lightly for a short time and there will be numbness in your mouth where any local anaesthetic was injected. Due to the sedation effect of the medication, you will need someone to escort you home after treatment is completed.
